Thanks, very useful summary. I’ve been watching loads of videos about the Bambu printers, and am having trouble nailing down what’s right for me. I want something now, but think the next gen with a bigger print volume is what I’ll actually be happy with, so torn between an X1C and the lower tiers, to fill in the void.

This is an informative review but why edit in the horrible 'clip art' 'stock videos of some-nobody shrugging or clapping . All vloggers should stop doing this. Its youtube video making of yesteryear.

Can anyone point me to a video that explains why the creator pours the resin into the vat by pouring it onto the top of the build plate? I'm sure I'm missing something.

It's an FDM... Like..."WORLD'S BEST" in your title is ridiculous. But that's the YT tactic these days. "EVERYONE LOOK HERE, THIS IS THE WORLD'S BEST!!!!!". 😄 Honestly titles like these make me block every channel that uses them so I'll never see another overly exaggerated opinion from any of you. If you use the words "NEED, INSANE, WORLD'S BEST, THE BEST" in your title, I've already hit "Don't recommend channel". Titles like yours make me want to regurgitate bile.

I like the way you reviewed this. I’m all over the place with my choices.

About 90% of the people cant see the difference between an average print quality vs a good one. 90% of the 10% that does ruins the model because they can’t paint at the same detail level as the print. So if you’re looking to buy a printer to use for yourself and you’re not a golden demon guy, buy the average ones. Oh, should mention all the hobbyist who pay tons for printers and resins but can’t manage supports so the prints ends up average anyway. In other words, if you need a good printer then you know it already, if you’re even thinking about good vs average get an average because it will fill your needs ;)

I changed my resin, and also moved houses. Printed the test thingy to adjust the setting but its very brittle. I can get it off the plate without it breaking into multiple pieces. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Picked up one of these for smaller jobs and one for a friend who owns a games and comics store and who hosts our weekly game. He does a lot of 40k, but GW is making life difficult on retailers and he's trying to stay on top of the trends. Now that ABS-like is a thing, he's getting more willing to explore options. I figure with a Mars 5 Ultra, he can get his feet wet. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a half dozen Saturn 4 Ultras cranking out models in a year. I used your link, Ross. Mazel Tov!

Is it offensive that I can’t tell any British people apart?

Hi, I want to exclusively 3D print relatively flat pieces but with max resolutions. I'd love to learn more about the compression issue and how you can actually get true 18µm resolution (microfluidics/microchannels with 50 to few hundred micron channel diameters inside the part). Thanks!

Dimensional accuracy depends on the resin used; light intensity alone won't help in achieving it. Some low to medium quality resins can be adjusted for either tensile strength or dimensional accuracy, but not both simultaneously.

Get your crayons out Ross ! I definitely would love to learn more about layer compression without having to endure a 90mn scientific lecture detailing their methodology test bed or the fundamentals of fluids mechanics.

Also I have got killer resolution with it, using normal FEP, the validation matrix is very crispy. Am I delusional? What is your opinion on the resolution of the Mars 4 Ultra?

Color? Thats amazing, but getting rid of supports... Just put it on the computer, a little orientation, and remember to do the cleaning at the end. No fails. I'm guessing the problem with such amazing printing tech is buying the expensive water soluble BS™155 support material for your J99K™ pentajet™ system. But hey, at least theres an option to upgrade from slicer to slicer pro™... for a fee.

I still prefer the Mars 4 Ultra over this…I’ll stick with what I have.

The same calibration issues you showed here I'm currently having on my new Mars 4 Ultra. I changed to nFEP but I just can't dial the resin in precisely, like I have on all my other printers (Phrozen Mini 8K, Mighty 8K, Mars 3...). The tests tell me that I need both shorter and longer exposure at the same time! The resin needs more exposure to build tensile strength as small stuff gets ripped off, but at the same time I already see clear signs of overexposure with small gaps starting to fill, small details get slightly bloated with less sharp edges. This has never happened on any of my other printers. I'm getting close to giving up on it and sending it back. If this is the same on the Mars 5 then there's no point for me.

So when I tried this apart from the touch screen being kind of shot, it just flat out didn't vary the exposure times, am I supposed to use an unsliced model or something?

The biggest Issue I have is that the bases end up warping like 80% of the time

Looks like a solid little printer. I've decided to pull the trigger at the end of July. Right now it's between the SU or M7 (this guy is a wee bit small). Certainly looking forward to comparison videos. :) Also, would certainly be eager to see a layer comparison video. Your video a few weeks back on settings was incredible!

Im whaiting your review about Kobra 3 combo multi color. Hope Anycubic fix the Kobra 2 issues, i have one and boy its a pain to fix Z off set.

He must not watch UA-cam because the way he thinks about the people that watch his videos are wrong, well from the lease my standpoint the people who watch the videos to get the information as quick as possible and then stop watching will scrub through the video so it doesn't matter where you put the information in the beginning or the end they will find it get it and click away, some people just like watching a well put together video...................

Elegoo are claiming the tilt feature on the Saturn 4 and Mars 5 is "new and innovative", yet the Prusa SL1 had this functionality nearly 6 years ago. Why has it taken so long to catch up?

So, is there anyone able to connect to MMF in some acceptable fashion (loading times) AND download models without constant network connection drops? (say about every 6 Mb, not even talking about the slooooow DL speeds) ... makes it kinda hard trying the platform and coming back for more...

So - there is no way to get the printer into your LAN or directly access it via WLAN, noted. The resin heating sounds like an innovative idea - until the connections clog up after prolonged use. The implementation of the pump "tower" is crude but about bearable - too bad though this is a mandatory feature. We had the ACF debate often enough and yet still there are new printers coming out with it. And no, i wouldn't swap it out myself, especially with the stupid tower on the vat. Even if the printer were the fastest (which it's not) or the one printing the highest possible quality nothing about it screams BUY to me. Soo many toads to swallow, nah, hard pass.
